Sample Setting the Stage activity: Cuando éramos niños/Quand nous étions petits
Assign students to bring in a picture from when they were little. Be sure they write their names on the back. If possible, don’t let them show the picture to their friends. Even better, have them send you a digital photo.
Scan the photos. Copy and paste the scanned pictures and the digital photos they’ve sent and place one on each page of the PowerPoint presentation.
If you don’t have enough pages, insert duplicates. (Insert menu: Duplicate slide)
Don’t forget to include a picture of yourself.
When all the photos are entered, save a copy of the presentation with a different name (Niños A/Ninos B?) Do not change the order of the slides after you make the copy!
In copy B, replace “¿Nombre?” / “Nom?” with the student’s name.
If you want to spend the time, go back to copy A and delete the text box for “¿Nombre?” / “Nom?” on each page. Because it flies in on a click, it will slow the presentation.
Show copy A to the class and have them write their guesses for each picture.
Show copy B and see how many correct answers they had
